SPRINGBANK moved off the bottom of the Inbev Winter Bowling League’s ‘A’ Division thanks to a shock 7-4 victory over title hopefuls Waterloo and Taunton.

With Radcliffe having an open date and Lees/Springhead going down 10-1 to reigning champions Royle, Springbank moved up two places to fifth.

Hopwood cashed in on Waterloo’s setback, returning to second place thanks to a hard-fought 7-4 victory over New Street.

In the ‘B’ Division, Failsworth had a well-deserved 7-4 victory over Dogwood, who were unable to maintain their form of the previous week.

Vixens performed much better than in their previous game, but lost 7-4 to Nimble Nook, while Tonge strengthened their grip on the top spot with a 7-4 win against third-placed North Chadderton.
