BLUE Square North side Droylsden dumped Coca-Cola League Two leaders Darlington out of the FA Cup with a 1-0 victory in their first-round replay.
Former Athletic striker Matthew Tipton scored the winner with a strike from the edge of the area, but the night was overshadowed by a serious-looking injury to Quakers striker Liam Hatch.
Hatch suffered a suspected broken neck during an aerial challenge and the game was delayed for more than half an hour before he could be taken to hospital by ambulance.
Elsewhere, Lincoln City were stunned by Iyseden Christie’s injury-time header which condemned them to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Blue Square Premier promotion hopefuls Kettering, while Stockport thrashed Yeovil 5-0 at Edgeley Park.
MOSSLEY ended a run of four consecutive defeats with a superb 2-0 win at second-placed Bamber Bridge in UniBond League division one north last night.
Captain Graham Kay put the Lilywhites ahead in the 38th minute, before substitute Mike Fish doubled their lead with 12 minutes to go.
The result lifted Chris Willcock’s side three places to seventh in the table.
