RU men shuffle the pack

OLDHAM RUFC travel to Wigan tomorrow in the third round of the EDF Energy Senior Vase (2pm).

And it will be a case of juggling the first-team squad for the clash against opponents from South Lancs/Cheshire League.

James Wilkinson is injured while Matt Brogan, Ross Cooper and Paddy Farnan are unavailable.

On the plus side, former player-coach Steve Molloy, Rob Burston, Jack Taylor and Ziggy Vatikions are back in the squad.

Oldham will at least be able to forget their battle against relegation from North Lancs/Cumbria division where their form has been erratic.

And it depends which team turns up at Wigan, the one which a fortnight ago won in the league at Fleetwood or last week’s which capitulated at home to Heaton Moor.

Oldham are scoring plenty of tries, but on the debit side are giving away far too many points.

After receiving a first-round bye and defeating Cumbrian side St Benedicts 15-11 in round two, Oldham suddenly find their cup run gaining momentum.
