Ashton lifts Dynamos

FAILSWORTH Dynamos are back up to second place in the premier division of the Lancashire Amateur League.
Lee Ashton helped himself to a hat-trick, Jamie Royle scored from the penalty spot and Wayne Kennedy got the other in a comprehensive 5-1 defeat of lowly Lymm
However, Dynamos are still some way adrift of runaway pacesetters Old Boltonians, who boast an eight-point advantage.
BRIGHTLY
Chaddertonians suffered their fourth league defeat of the season as they went down 2-0 at Old Blackburnians.
The visitors started brightly but fell behind after 25 minutes against a side who were looking to maintain their 100-per-cent record.
Chadds wasted two good chances to draw level after half-time, and it was the hosts who showed how it should be done by adding a second.
The club’s second team lost 4-0 at Castle Hill in division one, while Danny Proffitt’s goal was the only bright spot as Oldham Hulmeians suffered a disappointing 4-1 home defeat against Astley Bridge in division two.
First-half goals from Pat Kearns and Chris Wales put Chadds ‘A’ on the road to a 5-0 win at Old Boltonians ‘A’ in division four.
Sean Dibney added two to the score, including one from the penalty spot, while Damian Hardman got the other.
Hulmeians reserves consolidated second place in division six with a 3-1 victory at Thornleigh ‘A’. Gary Melia, Howard Matthews and Paul Wainwright were on the scoresheet.
And Hulmeians ‘A’ picked up a point at Bury GSOB ‘B’ in division seven. Chris Hope hit the target in a 1-1 draw.
In the same division, Jonathan Hardisty and an own goal made up the ‘B’ team’s tally in a 6-2 home defeat to Castle Hill ‘A’.
With six regulars missing, Chadds ‘B’ produced a fine effort to sweep aside Rossendale ‘C’ 4-1.
Behind at the break, they hit back thanks to a Wayne Griffiths hat-trick and a Rob Fielding effort.
