United overwhelm depleted House

UNBEATEN Ashton Sunday League premier division pacesetters Halfway House crashed out of the Vic Marsden Trophy.
Decimated by injuries and cry-offs — they could only field nine players — they were trounced 10-3 by Warwick United, who took full advantage of their title rivals’ problems.
Martin Chapman got four of the goals, while Mick Wolfenden weighed in with a hat-trick.
Meanwhile, division one high-flyers Dog and Partridge progressed after a scintillating 11-1 win over top-flight strugglers Springbank.
Ryan Rafferty struck four times and Nick Heap helped himself to a treble.
In an all-division one tie, a hat-trick from Rob Brearley was in vain as Falconers went down 4-3 to mid-table Wellington, for whom Colin Hill, Andy Kenworthy, Danny Murray and Mark Arnfield were on the mark.
The only league fixture took place in division one, where Manor climbed three places to second after beating Charlestown 2-1. Chris Cooper and John Slicker hit the target.
