Chadderton take valuable point

CHADDERTON’S First Division Trophy second-round tie against Bootle was postponed, yet they still played the same opponents at Broadway on Saturday!
A problem with the floodlights, which came to light last Thursday, meant that the Vodkat North West Counties League were forced to call off the Trophy tie because had it gone to extra time and penalties there would have been insufficient light to play the game.
Instead, league officials sanctioned that fifth-placed Chadderton could bring forward their league fixture against Bootle, from February, with a 2pm kick-off.
Chadderton produced an excellent performance to earn a 1-1 draw with one of the favourites for promotion, Bobby Fulham earning them a point by cancelling out an Andy Fowler goal.
The games involving Oldham Town and Mossley were postponed.
