RU men beaten

OLDHAM RU 3rds slipped to a 34-0 home defeat against Heaton Moor in tough, foggy conditions.
The Oldham lads battled hard, with Chris Lamb leading the way, but struggled to breach the defence of a very strong Heaton Moor outfit.
In contrast, Moor capitalised on every scoring opportunity.
Oldham’s Vets turned in a performance to match the poor weather conditions as they lost 17-12 at Bury, who were boosted by additional players who could not travel away with the senior sides.
Bury opened their account with a penalty, followed shortly by a converted try, but an excellent break from Damian Hall allowed him to score Oldham’s only points of the first half.
The second followed a similar pattern as Bury again scored through their backs before, with 10 minutes to go Oldham replied with a converted try, winger Graham Trickey rounding off a slick move and Paddy Lockett adding the two points.
