OLDHAM RUFC ‘A’ XV were beaten 10-0 at home by Glossop’s third team as their run of three successive victories came to an end.
Glossop took a 12th minute lead with a penalty following an infringement in a ruck, the only score of the tightly-contested opening period.
And it was not until the final minute that Glossop sealed victory with a converted try which followed forward pressure after a lineout.
Extra ‘A’ put up a gutsy display at Old Bedians before losing their league fixture 20-5. All the points - five tries - came in the opening period, Phil Walmsley scoring a great touchdown for the local side.
Oldham defended well in the second period to prevent Bedians from adding to their tally.
Vets were beaten 41-5 at home by a strong Broughton Park side, Neil Forsyth getting their lone try as his great scoring run continued.
The Colts game at Wigan was called off due to a frozen pitch.
