DIVISION 3 leaders Honeywell D were surprisingly beaten 7-3 by Owls A in the Oldham Table Tennis League.

Dave Harthan scored a maximum for Owls and there were doubles from Richard Tamworth and Paul Woodward.

Droylsden move into second spot after their 7-3 win against two-man Failsworth C.

Unison C are just one point behind after beating Failsworth B 8-2. Failsworth turned up a man short and, with Steve Collins playing but ineligible, they were effectively a one-man team, with Vin Gaffey winning the two.

The Coldhurst B team of Malcolm Wills, Darren Brown and Neil Chapman all won two each, losing to Ian Cockcroft who scored all the Deaf Club A points.

Other unbeaten players in this division were Alex Griffiths for Saddleworth B, Paul Whyatt for Unison B and Neil England for Coldhurst C.

Long-time leaders of Division 2, Hollinwood C have slipped to third spot after only managing a draw with their D team.

The Werneth C team of Karen Hill (3), Paul Wilkinson (2) and Terry Donlon (2) go top after beating Honeywell C 8-2.

The Honeywell B team of Brian Higgins, Howard Travis and Paul Buckley are now second after whitewashing bottom team Grotton B.

In Division 1, Hollinwood A drew with Hollinwood B mainly thanks to a Gary Newton treble, beating Tristran Swann, George Jones and Colin Boardman.

OTTC A beat BAE B 8-2 with maximums from Dave Griffith and Josh Boult.

A similar score was recorded by Werneth B at Rosehill B, with Doug Hill and Bernard Davies scoring maximums.

The Unison D team of Ian Connell, Tony Hyde and Dennis Heyes, remain top of Division 4 after beating OTTC D by the maximum.

Second-placed OTTC C managed a draw with close rivals Honeywell E, while third-placed Owls B were also held to a draw at OTTC B, with Philip Tamworth unbeaten.

Bottom team Coldhurst E drew with Werneth E mainly thanks to an unbeaten performance from Peter Altham.
