Swim clubs are a credit
Date published: 18 December 2008
OLDHAM Aquatics and Crompton Classics ASC are among almost 50 swimming clubs to have be awarded ‘Swim21’ accreditation - the Amateur Swimming Association’s ‘quality mark.’
The accreditation is important to clubs as it shows they are providing safe, effective and quality services for the benefit of their swimmers and non-swimming members.
The main aim of ‘Swim21’ is to ensure young swimmers are following the ASA recognised pathway for training and competition.
The total number of accreditations is now 399 and includes not only swimming clubs but also diving, synchronised swimming and water polo.
At its latest meeting the ‘Swim21’ National Panel approved 49 submissions, 33 of which came from clubs applying for first-time accreditation.
Among the applicants were Oldham Aquatics, accredited for their work on swimming team skills and competitive development and Crompton Classics, accredited for their teaching courses.
