UPPERMILL Rockettes under-16s produced one of the great recoveries in the Oldham Girls League to book their place in next month’s Knock-out Cup final.
Trailing 5-0 at half-time to R.O.C.S FC, they appeared down and out but a positive team talk inspired a stunning fightback.
Jenni Irwin, Kim Buckley, Lucy Hurst (two) and captain Ellie Stanford, who scored with just seconds to go, levelled things up.
Goalless in extra-time, Rockettes held their nerve to win the penalty shoot-out 4-2 and leave R.O.C.S, who had Brittany Birtles (two), Faye Hardicre (two) and Sarah Ryan on target, shattered.
Leanne Taylor saved two penalties for Rockettes in the spot-kick decider, while Irwin, Stanford, Buckley and star player Hurst made no mistake.
They face Heyside Angels in the final on Saturday, January 10.
Angels defeated Oldham Athletic 9-1 in the other last-four tie, thanks to goals from Gemma Jacobs (four), Vicki Melia (three) and Jade Morris (two). Ashley Ellems replied.
Lucy Shaylor struck three times for Angels under-16s in a 6-3 victory over Droylsden. Jessica Bromley, Blossom Halkyard and Emma Harte were also on target.
Under-13s Angels Clarets, with Beth Mellor (three) and Kelly Ward getting the goals, overcame Harpurhey United 4-2.
Jade Hughes helped herself to four goals as Angels Inter under-11s brushed aside Oldham Athletic 7-1 — Hannah Smedley (two) and Caitlin Senior made up the tally — while Alicia Stretton scored twice for Angels Clarets under-11s in a 2-0 win over Uppermill Rockettes.
o OLDHAM Athletic under-14s bowed out of the Knock-out Cup at the semi-final stage after they were beaten 5-2 by Moston Juniors.

North Bury Junior League
CHADDERTON Hoppers Reds under-12s fought back from a two-goal deficit and the loss of their goalkeeper to earn a 4-4 draw against Rossendale United Boys in the North Bury Junior League.
They only had 10 players in the second half because of an injury to the ’keeper, but they showed bucketloads of determination to pick up a point.
Josh O’Donnell (two), Dan Javed and Jack Radcliffe scored for Hoppers.
But the Blue team were poor as they went down 6-2 to lowly Radcliffe Borough Colts.
Dan Radcliffe and Dan Randle scored the consolation goals.

Manchester Youth League
TWO goals apiece from Riley Hamill and Joe Fagan, plus an Aiden Young effort, clinched a 5-3 win for Chaddy End FC under-11s over Hollinwood Athletic in the Manchester Youth League.
JOE Laycock (two) and Matthew Wignall weighed in with the goals as Broadway Celtic under-13s defeated Higher Blackley Boys Rebels 3-0.
Bowlee Sunday League
JOE FAGAN was the star of the show for Chaddy End FC under-11s in the Bowlee Sunday League.
The young sharp-shooter scored all four goals in the 4-2 defeat of Moston Juniors Reds.
Bury and Radcliffe Youth League
A DOUBLE from Tom Keegan was in vain as Chaddy End FC under-15s were beaten 4-2 by North Walkden in the Bury and Radcliffe Youth League.

Rochdale and Oldham Youth League
Kaimmen the star as ’Head bounce back
SPRINGHEAD AFC under-13s, inspired by a four-goal hitman Kaimmen Morris, showed excellent powers of recovery to defeat Heyside Juniors 6-3 in the Rochdale and Oldham Youth League.
Two goals adrift inside the opening eight minutes, Morris struck twice to level things up, only for Heyside to nose ahead again just before the break.
But the second half was all Springhead as Morris took his tally to four and Jordan Mortimer added a double.
Corey McConkie, Danny Barnes and Ross Morrison were Heyside’s scorers.
Springhead under-12s returned to action after an enforced month-long break with 6-1 win over Rochdale St Clements in the cup.
Jack Lent set the ball rolling, only for Saints to draw level.
Lent restored Springhead’s lead before the break and went on to complete his hat-trick in the second half.
Jordan Boland, captain Matt Hewitt and Toby Ferguson got the other goals.
TOM MALONEY made his mark for unbeaten Chaddy End FC under-12s in their stunning 8-3 victory over Chadderton FC Juniors.
He struck four times, Charlie Burton bagged a brace, while James Moore and Lewis Henderson got one each in the battle of the top two teams.
Wes Williams, Bradley Humphreys and Liam Eadsforth replied for Chadderton, who were suffering their first defeat in the league this season.
The under-14s brushed aside Springhead AFC 8-2, with Matty Singleton (two), Callum Maznyczenko (two), Josh Brown (two), Matthew Green and Robert Barber getting the goals.
JACK JOHNSON (two), Lewis Wood (two), Callum McEvilly, Aaron Bettles, Chris May and an own goal did the damage as Crompton Villa under-12s bagged an impressive 8-1 win over Littleborough.
