OLDHAM & Royton’s athletes travelled up to Rawtenstall for the final race in the Red Rose Cross Country League and there were great performances in the under-13 boys race.
Adam Howard maintained his excellent form by winning in 11:08 to confirm first place overall after the four-race series. Rob Smith came home well to finish third on the day in 11:25 and took second place overall. Jamie Burrows finished in 33rd place in 14:22 to take the team to third on the day.
In the under-15 boys race Mike Smith continued his return to form with a good run in eighth in 13:51 and finished 10th overall. Jane Augsburger was third in the under-7 ladies race in 24:47 and third overall.
Others: Senior men: Owen Flage (53rd in 39:24), John Hudson (68th 41:12), Brian Schofield (87th 42:11) and Darren Mannings (112th 45:03). Overall: Mike Mannings (fourth senior men and third under-20), Owen Flage (37th), John Hudson (48th), Brian Schofield (62nd), Karl Smith (88th) and Darren Mannings (89th).
