IN THE family: (l-r) Jeanette, David, Ryan and Bryn.
WHEN it comes to Martial Arts, it’s a family affair at the Kajima Ju-Jitsu club, which meets at Crompton Conservative Club.
Youngster Ryan Knott (11), from Royton, made it three generations of the same family to achieve First Dan black belt status - and above - when two years of hard work paid off at the recent gradings.
Ryan’s grandfather, David Terry, took up ju-jitsu in 1981 and is now a Fifth Dan, while his daughter Jeanette started at the age of nine and is now Fourth Dan.
Her husband, Bryn Knott, then got hooked and has reached Third Dan, while young Ryan first started at the club at the age of six.
