Mossley wary of hitman Donnelly

THE three local non-league teams will be looking to get back in action tomorrow for the first time since Boxing Day.

It has been a frustrating time for all three clubs as their fixtures have become victims of the recent freeze.

MOSSLEY head to Stormy Corner, the home ground of Skelmersdale United, for a clash of two teams battling for a play-off place in UniBond League, first division north.

The Lilywhites are eighth in the table, while Skelmersdale are two points better off in sixth.

Mossley manager Chris Willcock’s side have become kings of the road with wins in their last three away matches.

And the total would have been four had their game at Durham City not been abandoned when they were 4-0 ahead.

Mossley won 1-0 against Curzon Ashton on Boxing Day and Willcock is hoping the break hasn’t disrupted the momentum built in the second half of November and December.

Mossley will have to keep a close eye on Skelmersdale striker George Donnelly, who has already scored 21 goals for his club.

OLDHAM Town will be hoping to strengthen their promotion push at Padiham in the first division of the Vodkat North-West Counties League.
After collecting 10 points from a possible 12 before their spell of inactivity, Town manager Tony Mills will be looking to his team to pick up where they left off.

They are handily placed in fifth position, only seven points off top spot with at least one game in hand on all four of the teams above them.

CHADDERTON, who are sixth in division one of the Vodkat NWCL, entertain Holker Old Boys as they bid to build on their goalless draw against Oldham Town on Boxing Day.
Manager Paul Buckley hopes to have defenders Dave Glynn and Tony Hanlon available after a long-term injury and work commitments respectively.

Chadderton reserves are at Ashton Athletic.
