Christopher going the write way

SCHOOLBOY Christopher Bradford is already displaying a talent for sports writing.

The 11-year-old from Slattocks has won a competition for youngsters to write a match report on an Athletic game.

It is part of the Football League’s Fans of the Future initiative for which the Chronicle teamed up with Athletic.

And Christopher’s reward for his 300-word match report from the home victory against MK Dons is a VIP day out at Boundary Park.

He is to be invited along with two other family members to a game which they will watch from the directors’ box and there will also be an on-pitch presentation of a signed Athletic shirt.

And that’s not all as Christopher’s winning entry will go forward to the Fans of the Future Junior Reporter final.

That is a national contest and if Christopher, a pupil at St John Fisher RC Primary, Middleton, is chosen ahead of children representing other League One clubs, he will receive a VIP day out at Wembley in May for the League One play-off final.

Christopher, whose favourite Athletic player is Andy Liddell, has had an interest in sports writing for some time and he often produces reports from televised matches.
