Whitewash stunner for Honeywell

LEADERS Honeywell D were surprisingly whitewashed 10-0 by second- placed Droylsden but remain six points clear at the top of the Oldham Table Tennis League third division.
Droylsden fielded a strong team of Laurence Hanna, Miles Benjamin and junior Mike Truter, whose three wins were particularly noteworthy.
Third-placed Unison C were held to a draw at Coldhurst C for whom Murray Corbin was undefeated.
Owls A went 5-0 up against Deaf Club A, who fought back by winning the next three games. Dave Harthan then won his third game of the night to ensure the win for Owls before partnering Richard Tamworth to a 13-11 victory in the fifth set, recovering from 10-6 down.
In Division 1, leaders Glodwick overcame Grotton A 6-4, mainly due to a Mark Ramsbottom maximum.
A Terry Taylor maximum for Hyde YMCA A helped them to a draw at OTTC A, for whom Josh Boult and Reena Ardeshana scored doubles.
Werneth A beat Hollinwood A 7-3 with a maximum from Darryl Meredith and a double from Gary Skinner. Simon Hardwick replied with a double, which included his first-ever victory over Stuart Meredith.
Werneth C beat their D Team 8-2 to remain top of the second division. Paul Wilkinson was unbeaten with Karen Hill losing to Mick Pellowe and Doreen Schofield losing to Alan Else.
Division 4 leaders Unison D took maximum points against Coldhurst E, while Owls B, in second spot, beat Werneth F 8-2.
