Weekend non-league round up

OLDHAM TOWN’S 10 men gave a battling display before losing 4-3 after extra time at Stone Dominoes in the third round of the Vodkat League Challenge Cup.
Town were reduced numerically in the opening half when Polish striker Kamil Zimowski was harshly sent off for what appeared a clash of heads with an opponent.
Town were 1-0 ahead at the time as Zimowski had scored midway through the opening half with a header, his first goal for the club.
Dominoes hit back with two goals in the last five minutes of the half from Anthony Marshall and James Curley, both after defensive mistakes.
The home side was also reduced to 10 men in the second period when Stuart Scheuber was sent off for deliberate handball having earlier been cautioned.
Tim Buxton made it 2–2 after latching on to a through ball to score and Town looked to have won the game when Stuart McGill beat two opponents to put Town 3-2 ahead with only five minutes left.
But in the 90th minute Dominoes snatched an equaliser from Nick Stone to force extra time.
Alex Dibley, Buxton and Leon Melia wasted clear-cut chances for Town before Dominoes clinched victory in the 116th minute through Matt Hill.
MOSSLEY’S hopes of securing a play-off place in UniBond League division one north were dealt a blow following a 1-0 home defeat by Skelmersdale United, another of the teams battling for a top-five spot.
It was a disappointing afternoon for the Lilywhites who were undone by a 69th minute goal from substitute Chris Almond.
Earlier Danny Egan struck a post while Graham Kay and Reece Kelly also went close.
The two teams cancelled each other out in the second period and the game looked to be heading towards a goalless draw until the lapse let in Almond.
CHADDERTON’S match at Ashton Town in division one of the Vodkat NWCL was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
