HOPWOOD kept alive the Inbev Winter Bowling League’s ‘A’ Division title race when they defeated leaders Royle 8-3.
Leading the way for Hopwood on Chadderton Cot’s artificial surface was Keith Howarth, who beat Alan Rushton 21–5.
As the season enters its closing stages, Hopwood are 12 points behind Royle, but have a game in hand.
Radcliffe continued their ascent from the relegation zone with a fine 8-3 victory over New Street, while Springbank climbed off the bottom of the table for the first time since the beginning of December when they defeated Lees/Springhead by the same score.
Tonge continued their winning streak in the ‘B’ Division with a 10-1 demolition of Lower Failsworth.
