Non league weekend round up

OLDHAM TOWN threw the title race wide open in the Vodkat North West Counties League first division after Saturday’s 2-1 home victory against leaders AFC Liverpool.
It was a case of the late show as Town came from behind by scoring twice in the last seven minutes.
AFC Liverpool, the team formed last summer by football fans who claimed they are being priced out of watching Premier League matches, saw Ian Sheridan’s first-half penalty brilliantly saved by Danny Pearson, Town’s reserve keeper who was standing in for the injured Matty Blair.
But AFC made the breakthrough midway through the second half when Town’s defence was caught out by a long ball, enabling Andy Olsen to race through to slot the ball low past Pearson.
Town’s never-say-die attitude - they still have not been beaten at home in the league since April 2007 - was rewarded in the 83rd minute when substitute Lee Neville released Stuart McGill who raced clear to shoot past keeper Jack Baker.
And it got better when James Curley, out for most of the season after breaking two bones in his foot, struck an 88th minute winner.
CHADDERTON extended their winless run in the first division of the Vodkat NWCL to six matches following a 2-1 defeat at Stone Dominoes.
It was a case of too little, too late for the Broadway side after Paul Ashton pulled a goal back in the 89th minute.
Dominoes had earlier established a two-goal lead in the opening hour through efforts from Anthony Marshall and Danny Brown.
MOSSLEY manager Chris Willcock apologised to the fans who travelled to Wales and witnessed a 6-1 defeat at Colwyn Bay in UniBond League division one north.
“It was an embarrassing day and it will not be tolerated. It upsets me there wasn’t any competitive pride in wearing the Mossley shirt,” explained Willcock.
Dean Canning headed Bay in front in the 16th minute and his goal was quickly followed by further efforts from Rob Hopley and Canning.
Mossley reduced the deficit early in the second half through a Mike Fish penalty, but it failed to spark a revival.
Bay quickly restored a three-goal advantage through Danny Edwards and extended it with a Simon Wood own goal and a spectacular 25-yard rocket from Craig Garside to complete a miserable afternoon for Mossley.
