Rugby Union side denied a game

OLDHAM RUFC'S game against Fleetwood in North Lancs/Cumbria division was called off after the Fylde coast club said they were not prepared to risk making a wasted trip.
Manor Park officials worked on the pitch on Friday, when it was playable in the afternoon, and on Saturday morning when they cleared the lines, though snow remained on the surface.
Parts of the pitch were still partially frozen but, with the temperature rising, groundstaff were confident it would have been playable by kick-off time.
They relayed the information to Fleetwood at 10.30am, but they telephoned back 45 minutes later to say they didn't want to take a chance.
The match has been rearranged for Saturday, February 28.
