Deaf take share of lead

DEAF B have stormed to joint top of the Oldham Amateur Snooker League thanks to a 6-0 whitewash of Nimble Nook.

Darren Atkin got off to the perfect start with a convincing victory in the first frame. G Robinson then edged the second to put Deaf two up. D Smith kept the ball rolling before M Smith made it 4-0 to the home side.

With the whitewash looming it was down to T Prince to try to salvage a point against Danny Reece. However, Danny had other ideas and a 44 break put paid to any ideas Nook might have had of taking a frame.

A 4-2 victory for CBC keeps them joint top with Moss Inn and Springbank A just three points behind in joint third.

Nimble Nook got back to winning ways at the card table and have opened up a four-point lead at the top.
