DEPLETED Oldham men’s darts team still managed a 6-4 victory at Blackpool in the premier division of the Lancashire GMC Super League.
The win keeps them 11 points clear of second-placed Rochdale Borough, whom they play in their next league match on Sunday, March 22.
Oldham were without seven regulars and man-of-the-match was Geoff Tucker who was playing his first game of the season and who normally cannot get into the team.
Former Welsh international Tucker produced a brilliant display of throwing, winning 3-0 and averaging 93.02, including a 12-dart leg.
Oldham women had a disastrous night, losing 7–1 at home to British champions Swinton in the premier division of the Lancashire GMC Super League. Carol Geddes was Oldham’s lone winner.
Six Oldham town-team players have been selected to represent Lancashire against Kent in the Inter-Counties Championship at the Roundhouse, Bolton, this weekend.
They are John and Shereen Downs, Moreton, Peter Connolly, Chris North and Janet Fox.
