Mossley’s hopes of making a late charge into the UniBond League division one north play-offs suffered a setback last night.
The Lilywhites went down 3-0 at Ossett Albion, just three days after they had had beaten their Yorkshire hosts at Seel Park.
Oldham Town warmed up for Saturday’s First Division Trophy semi-final with an empahtic 5-1 win over Leek CSOB 5-1.
After scoring three goals inside the opening 21 minutes — Darren Scanlan, Stuart McGill and James Curley were the marksmen — Tony Mills’ side were always in control of the Vodkat North-West Counties League division one clash.
Lee Scanlan and Curley added to Town’s tally after the break.
