Failsworth attracts top bowls line-up

Bowls round up
THE Lancaster Club in Failsworth stages the first significant bowling handicap of the new season.
Starting on Monday, there will be four heats next week, with the finals on the following Monday. All matches start at 6.30pm.
The competition has attracted several top players, including reigning Waterloo Handicap champion Gary Ellis and his Nimble Nook team-mates Andrew Buckley, Darren Griffiths and Colin Lane.
Tuesday’s action sees a repeat of the 2007 final in which Alan Bidwell defeated Lee Lawton.

ENTRIES are being accepted for the £3,000 Moorside Classic which has heats on Thursday, July 23, Friday, July 24, Thursday, July 30, Friday, July 31, Thursday, August 6, Friday August 7, Thursday August 13 and Friday, August 14.
The finals will be held on Friday, August 21. Play on all nights start at 6.30pm.
Winners of two games are on £30, the champion receives £700 and runner-up £400.
