MOSSLEY will be hoping to end a four-match losing run when they visit Lancaster City in UniBond League division one north tomorrow.
The Lilywhites have seen their hopes of making the play-offs dashed after a disappointing few days in which they slipped to 13th place in the table.
Mossley’s most recent defeat was on Tuesday night at Trafford in the semi-finals of the President’s Cup.
Manager Chris Willcock is looking for a pick-me-up, although it won’t be easy as Lancaster are in the mix for a top-five finish.
But Willcock can call upon added firepower as Danny Toronczak is available again after being cup-tied in midweek, while Danny Dignan could make his comeback from an ankle ligament injury.
There is also a chance captain and central defender Graham Kay could return after a lengthy lay-off with a calf-muscle problem.
Meanwhile, Mossley have appointed Darren Forde, who was assistant manager at non-league outfit Rochdale Town, as their goalkeeping coach.
Town eye promotion pick-me-up
OLDHAM TOWN will be looking to put their Vodkat North West Counties League, first division promotion bid back on track when they play host to Eccleshall tomorrow.
The 1-0 midweek home defeat by Darwen dealt a massive blow to Town’s hopes of going up.
Yet, there was little wrong with their display as Town struck the woodwork five times.
On another night it could well have been a different story as Darwen snatched victory with their only attack of the game.
Manager Tony Mills is aware, however, there is little margin for error if Town are to make a late challenge for a top-two spot.
They are currently seventh, but have played five fewer games than some of the teams above them in the table.
CHADDERTON visit basement boys Ashton Town in division one of the Vodkat NWCL.
But the mid-table Broadway side won’t be underestimating their opponents. Town have recently strengthened their side and results have improved.
“They drew against high-flying Bootle, which shows what they are capable of doing,” explained manager Paul Buckley, who has Bobby Fulham back from holiday.
Chadderton entertain Bootle tomorrow in the reserve division.
