WESTWOOD produced an upset in round three of the D&J Builders (North-West) Ltd Oldham Sunday League’s Challenge Cup.

The David Giblin division one outfit stunned Failsworth Dynamos, who have an outside chance of being crowned Jack Abbott premier division champions.

Westwood won 2-1 to move a step closer to the prestigious Boundary Park final on Tuesday, May 5.

Northside, third bottom in division, also created a surprise in the last-eight of the President’s Trophy.

They beat Royton Athletic, mid-table in division one, 2-0.

Coppice United came out on top in the clash of the second and third-placed teams in the premier division when they edged out Lowerhouse United 1-0.

Failsworth Athletic did their hopes of avoiding relegation a power of good with a 3-1 win over High Crompton CC.

Chaddy End FC were awarded the points after Hunt Lane were unable to raise a team, while Avro under-19s overcame Shahjalal Unity 5-2 in the battle of the bottom two.

Khartoum Northern are hot on the heels of FC Broadgate at the top of division one.
