Deaf defeat opens door

DEAF ‘B’, leaders of the Oldham Amateur Snooker League, suffered a 4-2 defeat at home to Royton Band Club.

But Chadderton Reform, in second place, were unable to take advantage of the slip-up as they were held to a 3-3 draw at Oldham Town.

Deaf’s lead is down to five points from Reform, who are in turn eight points clear of Springbank ‘A’.

The table-toppers have an open date this week, which could open the way for the chasing pack to mount a challenge.

Nimble Nook are four points clear of Oldham Cricket in the cards league, with Passenger Transport in third place.
