OLDHAM St Anne’s under-15s turned on the style to outclass Shaw Rhinos 60-0 away from home and move into the Oldham Chronicle Cup semi-finals.
Ewan Reddyoff, Nathan Hughes, Jarrod Ward, Martin Swaine, and a brace by Kyle Mayall, who kicked four goals, helped Saints to a 32-0 half-time lead.
Ward, Reddyoff, Jack Tindall and Martin Swaine added further tries, with Kyle Mayall claiming another another three conversions before completing his hat-trick with a length-of-field effort which was added to by the boot of Kendal Davies.
After conceding an early try, Oldham St Anne’s under-12s came back to win 16-10 after extra time in a Development Plate semi-final tie at Golborne Parkside.
Tries from Alex Jobson and Ryan Lynch and a conversion from Paul Ainsworth helped take the game to 10-10 at full-time and Saints’ superior fitness paid off in the second period of extra play when man-of-the-match Lynch got on the end of a well-worked effort, again goaled by Ainsworth.
Oldham St Anne’s under-10s defeated local rivals Saddleworth Rangers 36-12.
Idris Tamghart scored in the first minute and St Anne’s added another three before half-time through Jamie Ashton, Anthony Wooley and man-of-the-match Nathan Done. Ashton and James Barran added conversions.
Barran’s second half effort was converted by Harry Akeroyd, before the visitors went over for a converted try of their own.
Akeroyd then put the game beyond doubt with a long, mazy run for the best try of the game, though Rangers were rewarded for not giving up with another converted effort.
Adam Pilling and Daniel Nixon scored for Oldham St Anne’s under-sevens but couldn’t prevent the side from going down to its first home loss of the season against Leigh Miners Rangers.
Finbarr Martindale, Michael Cashin, Owen Smith, Jim Duckworth and Patrick Conner all showed great improvement.
FITTON HILL under-15s picked up a first win of the season, beating Cadishead Rhinos 18-14.
A superb team performance was rewarded through tries from William White, Josh Hulme on the back of great work from Peter Maude, Jordan Robbie and man-of-the-match Frazer Mottershead.
Rhinos came back but Shaun Codwallander’s try plus Declan Bridgehouse’s third conversion wrapped the game up.
WATERHEAD under-16s rounded off their season in style with a 52-12 home win over Bank Quay Bulls.
Jordan Hanley filled his boots, picking up five tries, and the other players to touch down were Niall Dunnington-Wallace (two) and Anthony Mellor (two), who also converted five times.
Jack Mayall was the other Waterhead player on the scoresheet, adding three goals.
