Carroll leads the way

STUART Carroll continued his fine early-season form for Royton Road Runners with a top-ten finish in the Oldham Half Marathon in a time of 1 hr 25mins 15secs.
Behind Stuart, other team members were prominent in the top positions in each age category, with Barry Greaves the second V50 finisher in 1:30:26, Bernard Goodwin third V40 (1:32:24), Dave Phillips the top V60 runner (1:36:52) and Shiela Waite third FV45, seventh lady overall (1:50:23).
Several other Royton runners were among the first 50 to finish - Colin Green (1:31:46), Bryan Lawton (1:32:58), Paul Whitehead (1:33:28), John Higgins (1: 34:53), Michael Harrison (1:35:35), Dave Whittam (1:36:01) and Robert Kellett (1:36:42).
Other Royton finishers were: Steven Shaw (1:42:39), Andrew Tyas (1:43:08), Jeff Cordwell (1:45:57), David Smith (1:48:49), Lewis Shaw (1:49:12), Teresa Hollins (1:53:31), Steve Hayes (1:56:23), John Kane (1:58:48), Trevor Grundy (2:04:17), Vicky Bramley (2:10:22), Neil Barker (2:10:23), Julie Greenwood (2:12:35) and Tony Hunking (2:12:44).
