PRIZES were handed out at Chadderton Cot as the curtain came down on another highly-successful winter’s bowling on the artificial surface.
The last competition of the season, the Wilds of Oldham individual knock-out, was won by Dogwood’s Peter Heighway, who overcame Steve Blaymire (Prestwich) 21-17 in the final.

Royle BC successfully defended their Inbev ‘A’ Division title, while Hopwood were runners-up.
Tonge won the ‘B’ Division title from Nimble Nook, and Springbank took the Ben Shaw’s Knock-out Trophy, beating Vixens in the final.
Dan Hodgson, representing Inbev UK, and Ged O’Rourke from Wilds of Oldham presented 16 trophies, while Chadderton Cot secretary Steve Simms handed a total of £2,220 to the winners, runners-up, and semi-finalists.
John Melia, on behalf of all the individuals and teams participating in the league during the winter, presented a gift to Alf Harrison and John Stanley for their efforts in organising and running the various competitions.
