Tame Valley’s hopes of avoiding relegation from division two central of the JJB North West Counties Squash League were dealt a crushing blow following their 3-2 defeat against Thornton in their penultimate match. Jamie Maddox and Amir Manachouri were their two winners.
The second team crashed to a 5-0 defeat against Rochdale seconds but the thirds edged past Village Hyde seconds 3-2 following wins by Graham Hall, Nigel Young and Mark Regan.
The fourths lost for the first time in five matches as they were pipped 3-2 by Monton thirds, Steve Brannan and Derek Leyland recording their victories.
