TURKS Head completed their Rochdale Sunday League campaign with a smash-and-grab 1-0 victory over FC Dale.
A depleted Turks side survived plenty of pressure, before Andy Eastwood capitalised on a defensive error to score in the 84th minute.
Turks had ’keeper Mark Seymour to thank for a number of saves, despite playing with two broken fingers, and they appeared ready to accept a point.
But, with time running out, Eastwood latched onto a slip by Dale captain Andy Tass, and lobbed the ’keeper for his 19th of the season.
The win keeps Turks in second place in division one.
CROMPTON Villa, with goals from Harry Southern (two) and Chris May, defeated Park Bridge Celtic 3-1 in the under-12s division of the Rochdale and Oldham Youth League.
