MID-TABLE Chadderton can have a massive say in the Vodkat North-West Counties League’s first division promotion race.
The Broadway club’s next three fixtures are against teams flying high in the table.
Chadderton are at home to Wigan Robin Park tomorrow, visit Oldham Town on Monday afternoon and then a week on Monday entertain Padiham.
Manager Paul Buckley said: “They are three big games and, while we cannot go up, we can have a say in who does.
“We can go out and enjoy ourselves while our opponents have to win so the pressure will be on them.”
Chadderton go into the Easter programme unbeaten in five league games.
Their only worries concern defenders Chris Pauley and Keith Melvin, who both picked up knocks in last Saturday’s home win against Daisy Hill.
OLDHAM Town could hardly have picked a worse time to have their poorest run of the campaign.
They have picked up three points from a possible 12, which has dented their promotion hopes in the first division of the Vodkat NWCL.
Town have recently been held by lowly Darwen, Holker Old Boys and Rochdale Town, and lost to high-flying Padiham.
That does not bode well for two difficult Easter fixtures as they are away to Eccleshall tomorrow and entertain neighbours Chadderton on Monday.
MOSSLEY are at home to Colwyn Bay this afternoon (3 o’clock) in the first division of UniBond League, division one north.
Manager Chris Willcock describes it as payback time after the Lilywhites lost 6-1 in Wales in January.
Mossley are away to Radcliffe Borough on Monday afternoon and Willcock is looking for three wins and a draw from their last six matches. That would give them 60 points, which ought to ensure a top-eight finish.
“It won’t be easy this weekend as Colwyn Bay are in the play-off positions and Radcliffe need a win as they are dangerously close to the foot of the table,” said Willcock.
