OLDHAM Town’s North-West Counties League promotion hopes may have disappeared, but they can influence who goes up.

They head to Staffordshire tomorrow bidding to halt the remarkable run of Stone Dominoes who have won their last nine games.

Dominoes have climbed from mid-table obscurity to fourth place and still have an outside chance of making the top two.

Town are fifth but a run of five league games without a win ended their hopes of going up, although they returned to winning ways against Chadderton on Easter Monday.

They will be in Staffordshire for the second successive Saturday, having lost 2-0 at Eccleshall on their last visit.

Manager Tony Mills says there were mitigating circumstances for that defeat as Town did not have a recognised front player with Darren Scanlan, James Curley, Stuart McGill and Leon Melia all absent.

Curley returns tomorrow after completing a ban, McGill and Melia will also be available while midfield player Tom Hughes is back from holiday.

Town will be without top scorer Darren Scanlan, who is working, while midfield man Jonny Joyce starts a three-match ban.

MOSSLEY play their final home game of the campaign in UniBond League division one north tomorrow when Wakefield visit Seel Park.

It was a disappointing Easter for Mossley who lost both their matches before drawing 1-1 at Newcastle Blue Star on Wednesday night.

CHADDERTON have a free weekend but play hosts to Padiham on Monday in the first division of the NWCL.

There is a reserve-team match tomorrow at Broadway when Chadderton tackle Colne.
