CROMPTON got off the mark for the season with a convincing defeat of Ashton on Sunday and skipper Glenn Dawson will be demanding more of the same in the first double-fixture weekend of the new Lake Garage CLL campaign.

The Glebe Street outfit entertain Middleton tomorrow before making the trip to Norden, for whom Dexter Fitton has returned as captain, on Sunday.

Werneth go to Heywood tomorrow for a clash of teams who have won their opening two fixtures.

Heywood may well be without professional Ruvin Periris for a third successive fixture.

Werneth are at home to Radcliffe — who lost to Oldham on the opening day of the season — on Sunday.

Oldham have fixtures against Milnrow at home tomorrow and Unsworth away 24 hours later.

And Royton, the only local side without a victory, will be hoping to remedy that situation when they go to Ashton tomorrow and host Littleborough on Sunday.

TOMORROW: Ashton v Royton; Crompton v Middleton; Heywood v Werneth; Littleborough v Clifton; Monton and Weaste v Walsden; Oldham v Milnrow; Radcliffe v Norden; Rochdale v Unsworth.

SUNDAY: Clifton v Monton and Weaste; Middleton v Ashton; Milnrow v Rochdale; Norden v Crompton; Royton v Littleborough; Unsworth v Oldham; Walsden v Heywood; Werneth v Radcliffe.

All matches start at 1.30pm.
