OLDHAM St Anne’s coach Mick Cashin has been delighted with the response his side have made since relegation to National Conference League division two was confirmed.
With that load off their shoulders, Saints have produced some terrific performances, defeating promoted Widnes St Maries’ 46-16 a week after taking another top-three side Ince Rose Bridge all the way for their 28-22 win.
The aim is to carry on the rich vein of form in the season finale away at champions Wath Brow tomorrow afternoon (2.30pm kick off).
“Lesser lads would have thrown the towel in by now, but we certainly haven’t done that,” said Cashin.
“We may be going down, but we are doing so showing that we are a decent side and the aim is to carry on the good form into next season.”
SADDLEWORTH Rangers are aiming to wipe away the disappointment of the midweek home loss to Bradford Dudley Hill by seeing off Millom at home (2pm kick off).
Keith Brennan has one injury concern over Jimmy Rogers (elbow) but is otherwise selecting from a full squad.
Should Rangers win, they will finish the season in fourth place and just outside the automatic promotion places.
Rangers are hosting a past players’ reunion before and after tomorrow’s game. All are welcome.
