Mark and John team up for win

WERNETH’S Invitation Day saw Mark Lord and Castle Hawk’s John Stanworth, the former Lancashire wicketkeeper, stump the opposition as they finished first with 45 points in the Stableford.
Second were Danny Wilkinson and Ashton-on-Lea’s Carl Starting (44pts), on the card from Lawrence Dawson and North Manchester’s Nick Fallows.
Fourth place went to captain Dave Whaley and Saddleworth’s Dave Pullen (43pts), on the card from Dave Griffiths and Eric Charles (Oldham), Aaron Rowbotham and Nick Corrigan (Saddleworth).
Winners of an American greensome medal were Howard Travis and Kevin Clarke (71-10-61) from James Buckley and James Matterson (64-2-62).
CROMPTON and Royton’s open mixed greensome was a winner for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice as £750 was raised for the organisation.
And there was a one-two for visitors from Stand as Anthony Howarth and Joanne Carlin headed the field with 39 points in the Stableford - two clear Chris and Claire Harding.
In third place with 36 points were home players Charlie and Andrea Lowe.
Jordan Flint headed the first division field in a medal with a score of 72-4-68 from Andrew Simpson (73-4-69), Dave Briddon (76-6-70) and James Frizzell (75-5-70).
Richard Flynn (80-14-66) topped the second division from Vic Smith (83-14-69), who was second on the card from Eric Frier (82-13-69).
Mick Healey (88-19-69) won the third division from Robert Coates (87-17-70) who was second on the card from Tony Power (94-24-70).
Adam Rathbone (95-26-69) triumphed in the junior medal from Lewis Wood (104-34-70) and Bradley Cannings (81-9-72).
Stuart Wagstaffe leads the way after the first round of the President’s Prize at OLDHAM.
He had a return of 79-15-64 which was the same as runner-up Phil Dockerty (73-9-64) and Paul Butler (68-4-64).
Winners of a four-ball betterball medal were Tony Caveney and Steven Squires (60) on the card from Norman Radcliffe snr and Norman Radcliffe jnr, Colin Lost and Mike Allen.
Mike Moxon heads the field after the first round of the President’s Prize at BLACKLEY after a nett 65.
Dave Smith (66) is in second spot while one shot further behind are Nigel Bowers and Alan Howarth.
Adrian Kendrick (63) leads the way after the first round of the Captain’s Prize from Pat Ruddy (65), John Cassells and Gordon Cox (both 66).
Dave Bausor (66) took top spot in the midweek medal from Julien Robinson, Alan Lane (both 67).
Kevin Barber captured the first division prize in the monthly medal at STAMFORD with a score of 76-12-64 - two shots clear of Alan Hartle (77-13-66).
Heading division two was Mark Devlin (80-17-63) from Paul Walker (82-18-64).
Clear winner of the third division was Jim Hallsworth (85-21-64) from Jake Ord (97-28-69).
SADDLEWORTH’S qualifier for the Chronicle Cup saw Ian Charnock head the field with a score of 80–12–68.
Runner-up was Steven Wild (83-13-70) on the card from Martin Heap (79-9-70).
Gary Lever claimed top spot in the first division of Captain’s Qualifier No 1 at BROOKDALE.
He had a return of 72-5-67 which was two shots clear of Trevor Mayo (75-6-69) who was second on the card from Charlie Clough (74–5–69). Fourth was John Strachan (80-10-70).
Antony Teasdale (82–16–66) headed division two from Paul Green (84–16–68), Steven Goddard (88-19-69) and Mark Leigh (85-15-70).
