Tonge maintain challenge

TONGE had a satisfactory 9–6 (186-160) victory over Longwood to maintain their Manchester Premier League title challenge.
Their winners were Jimmy Derby (21-17), Nick Brooks (21-5), Colin Lane (21-7), Darren Griffiths (21–14), Thomas Dobson (21–14) and Gary Ellis (21–19).
Tonge are away to St Joseph’s of Chorley next Wednesday.
ONLY a handful of places remain in this year’s Oldham Evening Chronicle Handicap which has heats on Fridays June 5 (Nimble Nook and Royton) and June 12 (Crompton and Delph).
The finals will be held at North Chadderton SC on Saturday, July 11.

ENTRIES are being taken for the £500 De-Frece Cup at Waterloo and Taunton BC.
Heats will be held on Tuesdays May 26 and June 2, 9 and 16 (7pm), with the finals on Saturday, June 27 (1pm).

J LORD and R Fish (Oldham) and J and H Lewis (Royton) will carry local hopes in Norden BC’s Brennan Paving mixed pairs on Sunday (5.30pm).
