PAUL HILL has made a terrific start to the Chadderton Mill AC Thursday evening series.
He has recorded impressive wins in the opening two matches on the club water.
Hill hit the ground running with a superb 37lb haul of ide on the four-metre pole and maggot.
Steve Hodges, the runner-up, boasted carp to 4lb for 28lb 10oz thanks to pellet on the deck at 11 metres.
John Pearson was third-best with 28lb 8oz of ide on caster up in the water at four metres.
John Lees (Gilders ) was fourth with a level 25lb, which included skimmers, ide and golden orfe on maggot up in the water at two metres.
Hill stretched his margin of victory in the second match, with a fantastic 47lb of ide on the nine-metre pole and maggot up in the water.
The organiser, Lee Humphries of GTI Matchman, opted for caster up in the water at nine metres.
That approach netted Humphries an ide every put in for a 33lb return.
Teenager Aden Boexrd was third. He bagged skimmers on pellet fished on the deck for 27lb 6oz.
Fred Prudham was next with a 26lb 8oz net made up entirely of silvers on the whip and maggot.
THE latest Medlock Bridge AC open match on the Park Lake was won by Chris Davies with 14lb 3oz.
He had half a dozen small tench, some roach and plenty of small chub on the pole-fished caster.
Bob Harrison’s second-placed 11lb 15oz net was tempted by the pole and pellet and included roach to 1lb and a few skimmers.
Tony Simcock was third with 10lb 12oz of tench and chub, but he was kicking himself after he lost two big fish from noted peg 30.
IAN COX took top honours in the second of the Diggle AC evening matches on Tanners Dam.
He weighed in a 27lb net of carp and skimmers on the pole, pellet and meat.
Dave Machin was second with an 11lb 4oz bag of one carp, some skimmers and roach on the pole and pellet, while Nick Henshaw was third with 7lb 4oz of skimmers and roach.
