Uppermill through; Delph frustrated

Uppermill are through to the third round of the LCB Knock-out Cup after a convincing 113-runs victory over Oldham at Leafields yesterday.
After being put in to bat, Uppermill made 248 thanks to 80 off 64 balls from second-team captain Mark Berry and 55 from overseas player Zeesha Khan.
The wicket livened up after light mid-afternoon drizzle and Oldham struggled to make an impact, collapsing to 135 all out despite a classy 36 from Nick Maree.
James Baron was the pick of the Uppermill bowlers with five for 25 as the Saddleworth League club saw off their CLL counterparts.
Delph were left frustrated yesterday as their Huddersfield League game with Skelmanthorpe was abandoned due to bad light and rain.
Delph posted a useful 253 for nine (Khiljee 76, Zahor 62, Jones 58) and had reduced Skelmanthorpe to 59 for four.
The second team lost to Kexborough (192 for nine) as they made 188 for five (Belcham 71, Ball 44).
