CROMPTON and Royton triumphed 3-2 at West Lancs in the Lancashire Scratch Shield.

The winners were Zoe Styles (2up), Pauline Givvons (3 & 2) and Sarah Penney (6 & 5).

Crompton and Royton were held to a 3.5-3.5 draw at home to Oldham in the Lancashire Shield.

Shirley Brown (1up), Jean Heathcote (3 & 2) and Noreen Nicholson (4 & 3) were the victors while Brenda Bellis halved her match.

EILEEN Fallon and Barbara Roberts won the Hilda Leggatt Foursomes at BLACKLEY with 75.5 points from their handicap of 27.5.

Runners up were Bernadette Kilcommons and Jean Meehan (78.5 off 17.5), while third went to Pat Rabbett and Cynthia Mayhoh (78.5 off 22.5),

Susan Oldham topped Lady Captain’s first round with 91-22-69, ahead of Jeanette Ryder (88-14-74) and Denise Hurst (94-18-76).

The Mandy Desson competition saw Eunice Cunliffe (104-33-71) win a card play-off with Jean Stroud (84-13-71), while third was Helen Sloan (85-13-72).

Jean Stroud and Anne Tyrer topped the Daily Mail Foursomes field with 94-18-76, ahead of Bernadette Kilcommons and Jean Meehan (95-17.5-77.5) and June Sutton and lady captain Cath Ruddy (105-25-80).
