WERNETH ‘A’ continued their improved form with a 4-4 draw at Oldham ‘A’ with away wins for Adam Rowbotham and Jonathan Wilde and James and Adie Buckley.

Lee Blainey and Lee Melia (2 holes) and Paul Pattinson and Norman Radcliffe (4 and 3) took home honours but the points were enough to lift Werneth off bottom spot.

Surprisingly the team left to prop up the division are reigning champions Brookdale ‘A’ beaten 7-1 by Ashton ‘A’.

Lee Butterworth and Barrie Shaw-Allan, Simon McGauley and John Bartley, and Andy Lomas and Tony Lambert all won for Ashton with Steve McGee and Adam Godfrey taking a half.

Denton ‘A’ have gone top after a 6-2 home win over Saddleworth ‘A’ with successes for Lee and Matt Merson (5&4), Matt Sayers and Jonathan Chaisty (6 and 4) and Jim Cox and John King (1 hole)

Brookdale ‘B’ moved to the top of the ‘B’ division after they switched their fixture at Ashton ‘B’ back to Woodhouses and won 6-2 with victories for Keith Loftus and Tony Bergin (5&4), Gary and Graham Whittaker (3&2) and Dave Harrison and Mike Arnfield (2&1).

They took over from Dukinfield ‘B’ who went down 6-2 at Stamford ‘B’ with home wins for Neil Pragnall and John Sharples (7&6), Paul Whitehead and George Sillars (4&3) and Terry Merson and Tony Hales (3&2).

Saddleworth B’ won 5-3 at home to Denton ‘B’ thanks to wins for

Steve Wild and Denis Lamb and Dave Taylor and Duncan Midgeley with captain John Walsh and partner Dave Newman taking a half.
