Mixed bag for Delph

DELPH suffered mixed fortunes in premiership one of the Drakes Huddersfield League.
Grant Jones’ side hammered Clayton West by 102 runs on Saturday, before they slipped to a painful four-run defeat at home to Scholes 24 hours later.
Half-centuries from Aaron Lilley (64), Irfan Zahoor (61) and Bilal Khiljee (60) lifted Delph to 305 for six at Clayton West. Kamran Mirza walloped an unbeaten 44 from only 19 balls.
Khiljee followed up with four for 34 as the home side succumbed to 203 all out.
Delph required 257 to beat Scholes, but fell just short despite the efforts of Khiljee and Jones, who made 81 and 56 respectively.
Delph, the holders, are at home to Marsden tomorrow night in the Examiner Twenty20 Cup (start 6.30pm).
