Delph cruise home

Delph, the holders, were comfortable six-wickets winners at home to Marsden in their opening group game of this season’s Examiner Twenty20 Cup.

Chasing 100 for victory, Grant Jones’ side reached their target with 3.3 overs to spare. Aaron Lilley and Graeme Simpson were unbeaten on 28 and 19 respectively.

Warren Jones and Stephen Broadbent took three wickets apiece in Marsden’s total of 99 all out.

Delph’s next group match is away to Slaithwaite on Tuesday, June 9.
