Uppermill crash to heavy defeat

IT was a case of after the Lord Mayor’s Show for Uppermill thirds in division four of the Site Electrical North Manchester League.
A week after amassing 314 for six, the Leafields outfit were bowled out for just 34 by local rivals Springhead seconds.
Springhead lost three wickets before achieving victory.
Uppermill fared little better 24 hours later as they were dismissed for 70 in reply to Darcy Lever’s third team total of 116 all out.
There were also defeats for Springhead and Failsworth Macedonia in division one.
Saddleworth’s third string lost by 67 runs against Prestwich, but still lead the way in division two, while Macedonia seconds were beaten by Littleborough.
Greenfield thirds, who were unable to fulfil their fixture on Saturday, came out second best against Thornhill thirds in division three on Sunday.
