MALC TAYLOR (Gilders) took the honours in the fourth round of the Cairo AC summer series fished on Denshaw Vale.

Fishing caster, Malc caught skimmers and bream to weigh in 11lb 15oz and ease Darren Jones (Tight Lines) into second with his pole and caster netting him golden orfe, skimmers and bream.

Mick Jewitt (Tight Lines) took third place and went on to earn top spot in the fifth round with a super net of skimmers and bream.

Fishing long pole and pellet, Mick took fish at regular intervals to weigh in 19lb 8oz and put some distance between himself and second- placed Darren Jones, whose 14lb beat Malc Taylor (6lb 13oz) and Paul Lord (4lb 2oz).

WEIGHTS in the Chadderton Mill AC Thursday evening matches just get better, the latest won by John Pearson with eight carp, the biggest 15lb taken at just four metres, to weigh in 50lb 2oz.

Paul Hill continues his good form, taking second with a fish a chuck as his 37lb 8oz was made up of ide taken up in the water. That beat organiser Lee Humphries (GTI matchman into third with maggot and caster fished right up in the water netting him 33lb of carp and ide. Graham Mitchell (GTI Gilders ) was drawn on the next peg but had to settle for fourth with 27lb of ide and carp.

THE Tuesday Diggle AC evening match fished on Tanners dam was a frustrating night as the larger fish could be seen and heard but not caught as they had spawning on their minds.

Still, the smaller fish played their part with all anglers getting plenty of bites and fish. There was a tie on the night with Ian Cox (Stalybridge Angling) and Tony Butzynski both tipping 9lb 13oz on the scales.

Third best Dave Machin had 8lb 6oz of skimmers and roach while Martin Taylor (TRI-CAST Highfield) took similar for 7lb 10oz.

PETE FINNEY topped the weights in the Monarch AC match fished on the club water with his 15lb 2oz net made up of a 7lb carp and some good ide and roach taken on eleven metre pole and maggot fished up in the water.

Andrew Chadwick wasn’t that far behind with his waggler and maggot approach netting him ide to 2lb 8oz and a final 13lb 8oz. Dave Taylor filled third place with his 13lb net including a 10lb carp and small silver fish.

KEV MARLOR (Tight lines) tied for first place in the Langwith Lakes open match with Ade Davis as both put an incredible 117lb 2oz on the scales. Kev fished pellet right across to an island where he landed carp to around the 3lb mark.
