Nisar’s 107 nails Oldham
Date published: 22 June 2009
OLDHAM were put to the sword by Clifton professional Adil Nisar as they suffered a six-wicket Lake Garage CLL defeat at Manchester Road on Saturday.
Skipper Chris McDonnell hit an excellent 96 in Oldham’s respectable 190 for eight after the Pollards men took guard.
But Nisar scored a stunning 107 to guide Clifton to their target for the loss of only four wickets. Chris Lord chipped in with a useful 31.
Royton (at home to Heywood), Crompton (at Unsworth) and Werneth (at home to Rochdale) saw no action as heavy overnight and morning showers left the grounds too wet for play.
Elsewhere, there were wins for Monton and Weaste, Radcliffe, Norden and Walsden.
Scores: Clifton 191-4 (Nisar 107, Lord 31), Oldham 190-8 (McDonnell 96); Middleton 132-6 (Stanworth 45, Bandara 4-41), Monton and Weaste 135-1 (Green 57 n.o., Scott 57 n.o.); Milnrow 140-8 (Younis 54, Power 31, Saiyed 6-65), Radcliffe 177-2 (Tariq 112 n.o., Patel 44); Norden 237-8 (Symes 137, Smit 5-103), Littleborough 183 (Thewlis 34, Collinson 3-35, Arthur 3-57); Walsden 237-5 (Rawlinson 127, K Garland 76, Zaman 5-50), Ashton 216 (Baig 56, Kadodia 51, Selby 36).
