THE Oldham & District Table Tennis League women’s team won the Lancashire and Cheshire League title for the first time in the Oldham league’s history.
They beat Blackpool, Bolton, Oldham A and Manchester and drew with Warrington.
Karen and Mandy played in all the matches, with Sarah Weatherby standing in for Doreen Schofield on one occasion.
The Lancashire & Cheshire League campaign proved fruitful for the Oldham league teams.
The men were runners up in the Premier League, the men’s A won Division 2, the Juniors took Division 1 and Junior A were Division 2 champions.
Also, the Veterans won Division 1, Vets A were runners up in Division 2, likewise Vets E in Division 4.
