Time runs out on Springhead

SPRINGHEAD ran out of time in push for victory against Robinsons in division one of the Site Electrical North Manchester League.
After posting 143, Springhead had reduced their opponents to 107 for nine when the stumps were drawn.
But Failsworth Macedonia slipped to a four-wicket defeat at the hands of Blackley.
Saddleworth thirds were also beaten by the clock in their division two match against Farnworth SC IIIs.
The Well-i-Hole outfit required 15 runs for victory but they were down to their last pair at the crease.
Roytonians went down to Fothergill anda Harvey seconds, but bounced back to beat Prestwich thirds by a 21-run margin 24 hours later.
Greenfield’s third team scored 247 against Elton Vale seconds, but it wasn’t enough to stave off an eight-wicket defeat.
Local teams enjoyed a good in division four.
Uppermill thirds overcame Blackley seconds by 33 runs and Springhead recorded an excellent eight-run win over their Tottington St Johns counterparts, who are challenging for promotion.
Saturday, division one: Failsworth Macedonia 116, Blackley 118-6; Springhead 143, Robinsons 107-9 — match drawn.
Division two: Farnworth SC IIIs 169, Saddleworth IIIs 155-9 — match drawn; Roytonians 173, Fothergill and Harvey IIs 175-7.
Sunday, division two: Prestwich IIIs 112, Roytonians 133-5.
Division three: Greenfield IIIs 247, Elton Vale IIs 250-2.
Division four: Uppermill IIIs 150, Blackley IIs 117; Springhead IIs 129, Tottington St Johns IIs 121.
