ANDY YOUNG claimed four for 15 and Michael Schofield smashed an unbeaten 77 as Austerlands booked their ticket for Twenty20 Cup finals day which they will host on Sunday, August 30.
Young was supported by Gary Sweeting’s haul of three for 17 and professional Junaid Khan’s one for six from four overs to leave opponents Shaw, last season’s beaten finalists, reeling on 88 for nine.
Austerlands reached their target in only 11.3 overs after Schofield struck 11 fours and three sixes. Adam Young was the other not out batsmen on 14.
Joining Kevin Du Feu’s side in the semi-finals are Heyside, Glodwick and Uppermill.
Heyside, featuring 73 from paid man Roelof Hugo, scored 197 for three against Saddleworth, who were restricted to 170 for nine in reply.
Glodwick, meanwhile, amassed 214 for six at home to Greenfield.
Shahid Mahmood hit 70, which included four fours and seven sixes, while pro Imran Aslam notched eight fours and three sixes in a knock of 62.
Greenfield, who conceded 36 extras in the Glodwick innings, made 148 for eight in their 20 overs.
Pakistan overseas amateur Zeeshan Khan piled up 79 for Tanner Cup finalists Uppermill as they recorded 158 for eight against Moorside.
Mark Brooks then bagged four for 18 as Francis Sutherland’s side were dismissed for 124.
